The two birds of prey that Richard compares are both
very effective in their missions: The Osprey picks up
its payload and the Skyhawk, A-4F shown here, delivers
it.

airplane artists ever.

One of the most extraordinary feats of airmanship in combat
is the story of LCDR. T.R. Swartz which is chronicled in the A-4
link above. You wing shooters will particularly enjoy it.

Evading and then shooting down a MiG-17 using an unguided air-to-ground rocket brings an entirely new dimension to the term, "wing shot." Lieutenant Commander Ted "T.R." Swartz certainly earned the Air Medal that day.
