Title: 40 Year Low in Murder
Post by: aircop_m on October 18, 2005, 07:39:49 AM
Just a thought,
A report came out yesterday, that murder in the USA was down to the lowest percent in 40 years. Maybe, just maybe, "Shall Issue" CCW's have some effect?

I think we may even be seeing less incidence of the
Houston traffic digital greeting signal that preceeded some
road rage. Now, one never knows what may be pointing
back at him. Courtesy is contaigous.

A few years ago, Detroit area was often reporting people trying to steal cars, when the driver was stopped at a light.

That has pretty well stopped.  I've always thought it was due to the "shall issue" CCW law in Michigan.

Aircop - I saw this and certainly like to think that CCW has been a major factor.

Probably the two areas where CCW has little effect, and may not have changed much are - gang shootings and ''crimes of passion'' but other aspects such as murders associated with robbvery etc - I think those will have been very usefully reduced.
