Title: Moderator Promotion!
Post by: DDGator on March 20, 2006, 12:06:18 PM
R9SCarry has graciously accepted appointment as my Back-up Moderator (BUM?) for the forum.  ;)  Travel has been taking me away from my computer a lot lately, and I wanted someone else to keep an eye on the store from time to time...

Thanks, Chris, for all you do for the Forum.

Please continue to e-mail me with any requests / complaints. Chris will mete out justice when I am unavailable!   ;D  Fortunately, you guys basically moderate yourselves.

''BUM'' signing in Boss!!  ;D

Yikes, I have lost my smilies bar!!  Have to use code.

Anyways - have a great trip Duane - should be a great bit of R&R.  As you know and some others too - Bonnie and I are hopefully off to Tulsa for the Gun Show, so I too will be gone briefly and hope all will stay smooth back at the ranch.

Thanks.  We leave this Saturday for 8 days.

Hey... this might be the longest stretch I have been unarmed in a long, long time.  :)

Don't know if you're heading somewhere you can carry concealed, but flying continental between Houston and Tampa with a R9s in the baggage was a very simple process -- I don't know about Tampa requiring me to show that the pup was unloaded at the baggage counter, rather than the TSA desk, but it worked.

Its worse than that... We are boarding a cruise ship for a tour of the western carribbean.  No weapons allowed.  At least, nothing they will think is a weapon.  ;D

Definitely packing some SureFire lights though!

Duane:

Great choice of Moderator!  Have a wonderful cruise!  (And a Surefire, as you well know, is "comforting" in more ways than most of the "sheeple" can even imagine.)   8)

Chris:

Congratulations, and thanks for being willing to take on the task!

Thx Richard - well it is a sorta ''back seat'' thing really because we are fortunate not to have much need for moderation too often.  Does mean tho that if for instance a ''certain person'' decides to try and register again, well - there are two of us to be able to potentially act!  ;)

Duane - I see two pictures re the Surefire - there is ''packing'' as in your suitcase - and then ''packing'' as in mounted on your belt!!! ;D  Watch six anyways like usual!

Oh and - take some exotic sunset pics on the high seas for showing us later!

The stars are a software feature -- I don't control them per se.  However, the "special" stars indicate Chris' moderator status.  My stars are also textured although a different color since I am also the Admin.

The number of stars, of course, relates to the number of posts.  Chris has maxed out on the number of stars...  ;)

Well Chris if anyone deserves big green stars you do.

On the Seecamp forum Larry Seecamp has the moderator green stars also so you are in good company.

Thx Dave.  Tho I'd be just as content to be starless!

Just thinking - was it last Thursday Nancy had pins out?  Hoping that went well and she is feeling not too much pain and can drive again.

Chris

Yes Nancy did have the operation pin out in her foot - one inch of it broke off and will remain in her foot for good - besides setting of metal detectors in the future it should be ok - she was very mad about it though.

Dave:

Joyce and I send Nancy our congratulations and the two of you our very best wishes.

For any comfort which it may be, Joyce and I each have some "extraneous internal residue" left over from prior surgeries.  We laugh about it, give thanks for still being alive, and marvel in the days which we share together.  Each and every day of life, especially with the right partner, is truly a miraculous gift from God.

All the best.

Dave - well, glad the job got done but pity about residual metalwork!!!  Hope all will still go on well now tho and the whole thing can be allowed to become history.  Did not sound a pleasant proceedure at all.

Richard - a big, big amen to that.  My thinking entirely.

Thinking again about how folks are - Tom - I hope Kathleen is coping OK and things can be looking brighter.

Chris, thanks, Kathleen went into surgury 2 weeks ago. Then the report came back they did not get it all, so she went into surgury last Thursday. She seems ok but we shall see. Then she has 6 weeks of rest and then 6 weeks of radiation. She really thanks you guys for your prayers.
