I got lucky and got the tip on the gun from a new member
saxnguns, and as luck would have it my daughter and
son-inlaw were in Datona on vacation, so they checked the gun out for me and wrote the guy a check for it.
I hope everything works out with the auction.

Yankee

Thank you and I have good news on my end as seller emailed me late last night. He told me there was something wrong with my email (which is a little strange, given that I had previously corresponded with him and received gunbroker email responses when I made my bids).

However, why do battle with seller?  Instead I am  moving forward with a view toward "first things first"? I am gratified to have posted yesterday "...the sun will rise and tomorrow is another day" Today is that day.

Thank you to forum members who saw me through this transaction

BTW: Great daughter and son-in-law!

Thanks again. As I told Tom Watson, I am very patient after I get my gun.

I have been spending money like crazy on guns recently. I need to step back and focus on ammo.

If the prices keep going the way they have been, it will be an even trade of a R9s for a case of 380. :o
Glad it all worked out, and congrats.

You earn your spring where I live in Northern New Enland. It is only in the last month, having commenced on this forum, that I became aware of ammo shortage.

I shot a box of .380 in January at my indoor club when the temperature rose above 25 degrees below zero. (Global Warming). I did not realize then what I know now.

I have been shooting a lot of .22 lately and I haven't done that in a
long time; even .22 ammo is in short supply as are many models
of .22 pistols and rifles.

Yep!  I got 10 boxes of .22 Stingers, 50rd. boxes(plastic), for the same reason back in Feb.  Just to have something to shoot.   :)

Wow. 22 shortage? This is an emergency and worse that I thought.

I have had a back order for six weeks on a brick of stingers so i
would use them judiciously. The stinger was recommended by one
source as the best ammo for a Ruger Mk II, for example.

I just looked at Cabela's.  They say backorder 1-2 weeks.  Still have my 10 boxes.  Will shoot sparingly.

My backorder is with Cabela's; it is much longer than they say; on the
other hand I received some of their premium 9mm ammo on or before
the predicted date. That was almost two months ago and things might
have tightened more since then.

Who would have believed a world in which .22 is in short supply?

I will visit my FFL later this week to pick up the new R9S and buy .22 that is available.

I honestly don't recall if .22 was in short supply when I picked up my Stealth, the week before last, as I have been focusing on 9MM

I'm pretty good on 22 about 7k on hand, but will buy more if the price is right
