I was curious if anyone had found a small case that was intended for camera or small device that worked well to hold an R9? I was looking thru my drawer of old pouches and found a camera case that would be nice if it were a little thinner. I had in mind something that you could pick up at Best Buy or the like, slide it on a belt and look like you are going to take a few photos or answer your "larger" iphone?
Just a thought, it may be a way to conceal in plain sight
Thanks for a great forum guys!

I thought about that also but never pursued it. The access to the gun is too slow due to zippers, velcro, magnets or snaps and because it's not designed for a pistol.
I had a fannypack that had a built in holster but it wasn't for me, hard to beat pocket carry for the pup.

I you want a pouch-type holster, may I recommend that you consider a Haugen Boxter:
http://www.haugenhandgunleather.com/search_results.asp?txtsearchParamTxt=Boxter&txtsearchParamCat=ALL&txtsearchParamType=ALL&iLevel=1&txtsearchParamMan=ALL&txtsearchParamVen=ALL&txtFromSearch=fromSearch&btnSearch.x=10&btnSearch.y=6
I have a spring clip Boxter for a Guardian .32 that I sometimes wear on "social" occasions as a backup for the R9 in my pocket. The Boxter looks like a case for a Palm Pilot or camera and completely shields the pistol from view.

Richard. That's a perfect fit. Very nice.
-
thanks, that is an interesting option. That may be nice to have as an option
-
Richard,
Very nice, I should have known if there was something made for that purpose you may have one. ;D But that is a little beyond what you can find at BestBuy. :o

I use these types of pouches especially this time of year when I wear shorts or pants that do not offer the pocket support needed to carry a pistol.
The MUFTI I use at night to clip to me gym shorts and it totes my 380 Seecamp.

WOW! That's some nice options! :)

Nice pic chameleon! Looks like you have the hidden in plain sight holsters covered.

chameleon, very nice collection, guns and carry pouches.

Just like a great fitting pair of shoes, if they're that great, you better buy two pairs.
I know there will always be new designs for carrying your favorite pistol. I have the MUFTI pictured on the bottom left. I used it right out of the box, then no more Ron Graham, then the In Plain Sight (IPS) was introduced so I bought that.
The latest is the little black pouches that hold the pistol and my cell phone. I'm getting tons of usage from these.
No, I won't win a speed drawing contest with any of these, but these pouches allow me to carry when I may otherwise not have been able to.Sure, I could wear other clothes just to accommodate the pistol, but now I don't have to.
-
SCUBADDS, you could also look at the Safepacker. It is an option. I have one for my Kimber and I have used it many, many times.
Look here....http://store.thewilderness.com/product_info.php?products_id=18
I have never thought of asking if a tiny one could be made for the Rohrbaugh.
The pouches I have used are somewhat designed to carry a pistol. Pouches designed for cameras that I have tried do not allow good support and most times allow the pistol to flop around and become lost in the pouch.
Yeah you could glue or velcro a holster like an Uncle Mikes in the pouch provided there is room.

Better to have it and not need it..
Than to need it and not have it!!!

chameleon. Good information, for sure. :)

Nice rigs chameleon, I like your tactics.

Hey guys,I picked up a belt case yesterday called a "Bulldog".It is about 15 bucks at the gunstore, and I think that Taurus includes one with some of their pocket pistols.
At first glance it appears to be too small to hold a pup,but it fits perfectly. It is made of Cordura, with magnetic snaps. This design is well thought out in that it is designed to hold the pistol upside down grip forward, and as you push up from the bottom the grip swivels up into your hand naturally and is much faster than any pouch I have ever tried before. The case has both a belt clip, and a belt loop,I've found the belt loop to be more secure.I think I will use this alot in the summer, with pockets full of wallet, surefire flashlight, keys and phone, there's not much room left.I've only used it one day so far, but enjoyed the feeling that I didn't have to worry about showing steel when bending over, and I didn't have to have shirt un-tucked. ;D

Another option, for sure!

Would you mind posting where these pouches can be purchased, particularly the one pictured on the top-right (if it has a belt clip).
Thanks,

Thanks, Gene. I am thinking about picking up a Rohrbaugh 380 to pair up with my LWS 380... and this seemed like the place to get some good info before doing so. Tom in Texas.

Welcome to the forum TominTexas, if you need help finding that 380, Tom Watson at the Irish Gaurd, on one of the banners of this forum will treat you right.
-
Tom In Texas, that pouch is called an IPS (In Plain Sight) made by Jim Powell in Alvin Texas.
I can not find his contact info at the moment.
-
The IPS holster is available at www.leatherandstuff.net, along with some other cool looking things.
-
As noted before, Jim, from leatherandstuff is recovering from surgery and not in the shop yet; hopefully, soon.
-
Good to know tracker, I missed that bit of info before. Hope his recovery is speedy and problem-free.
Thanks!

I have a pleather BullDog and it works good. A little too wide tho - it holds the gun horizontally, which isn't the best plan IMO. I think I got it from Natchezss.
The best in plain sight holster I picked up by luck at a LGS, and was suprised to see it list the Rohrbaugh as a specific fit. It isn't that small, but carries an extra mag - the DeSantis EZ-Rider. Sure it is a little too large even to be a oversized phone, and it zips shut which might be an issue when in need, but it is so easy to take on and off, it works great as a combo car case/holster... When I get out of my car in a bad area, I just pull it out of the car door and clip it (paddle) on my pants... Just maybe in those situations I am not trying to be as discrete as I would be otherwise...
