I am unable to view pictures that have been posted on this site. I can only see a box with a small red x in the upper left hand corner. Anybody have any idea what may be causing this?

Not sure of your browser choice but - could be in your internet settings you have not selcted to see images, tho you are obviously set up to see placeholders.
Otherwise they should show. Mine are all hotlinked from one of my servers and will/should always show, unless server down of course! Check all your settings anyways - see if that helps any.
