Just thought I would share some interesting (to me) facts from the report for 2007 (the most recent year available):
* Total small arms production in 2007 was 3,860,130, up 6.8% from 2006.
* Of the total, 58% were long guns (and of that, 71% rifles and 29% shotguns)
* Handgun production was 1.6 million units, with 76% pistols and 24% revolvers.
* Top manufacturers by unit sales were: S&W (523,554 units), then Remington, Ruger, Mossberg and Marlin. Glock was #15 with about 62,000 units. Colt was #23 with about 34,000 units. (Rohrbaugh not listed in the top 25 --
)
* Small arms and small arms ammunition manufacturing employed over 19,000 people and accounted for over $3.9 billion in goods shipped.
It will be interesting to see the 2008 and 2009 figures when they come out.
