Jeff
I just received an email from John yesterday. He has both flat head, butt head and O-Rings in stock.

The flat head work with the OEM grips - the newer G10 and older Carbon Fiber.
The button head work with the VZ grips - G10 and Carbon Fiber.

I have used both grip screws and the O-rings and endorse them. They work great!

Adam.

Aren't button head screws appropriate for all R9 models and grip combinations? I used them on my OEM black carbon fiber grips and they worked quite well before I switched to VZ grips where they now rest on O-rings as happy campers.

I never tried the button head screws on the OEM style Rohrbaugh grips. It was my understanding the flat head screws were to be used in this application.

Maybe John could clarify this for is.

I just tried both kinds in my OEM carbon fiber grips and they both fit fine except the flat head screws are slightly more flush than the button heads. John had sent me the flat head alloy screws and I had the button heads from VZ. I think it is primarily personal preference.

John,

Just received my order of screws and o-rings, thanks for doing this as most people will not with a small market.

I love the black grip screws and the O-rings.

The stock screws on my R9 would loosen over time from dry-firing, jogging and cycling.  The replacement screws with the O-rings have stayed snug, they're great.
