tracker, are you in the flood zone?

It seems like every 3 or 4 months I'm asking you this, but did you get hit hard with the storms?

Not too bad in my area but there was a lot of street flooding, abandoned vehicles, etc. The TV coverage always makes it look much worse but much of the vehicle loss was a lot cars and trucks that shouldn't have been on the roads. There were some low lying areas such as Greenspoint and Meyerland where homes always are affected by heavy rain. Many of the bayous overflowed that added to the mishaps. My neighborhood is close to the Medical Center and we have excellent storm drains that handle the water flow quite well. Overall, it was definitely a frog floater with 7 fatalities, 1000 homes under water, and 43,000 homes without power; some areas received 6 inches an hour and most of Houston received 5 inches in 14 hours. This was a huge system that inundated 9 counties.
