Simple to make tools for take down/reassembly

I own 6 Rohrbaugh pistols...3 9mm and 3 in .380 cal. I found the most difficult procedure to be re-insertion of the spring and guide rod after a cleaning session. The vice grip recommendation in the manual made me cringe. So, my son and I fabricated a simple tool that will not mar, scratch, or let springs fly across the room. We also happened upon the best drift punch, which will never mar the slide. A pair of Buss fuse pullers (they look like plastic pliers) is the basis for my reassembly tool. This can be purchased at Home Depot or Lowes for about $8.00. You simply drill a 1/4" hole at the end of each jaw of the pliers, use a pair of wire cutters to snip the excess at the opening and voila! Your reassembly tool is complete. The high tech drift punch is simply a Q-tip with one end snipped off...it fits the Rohrbaugh take down hole perfectly and it is disposable. I am new to this site and do not know how to post pictures...I've got some photos of my above handiwork, which I will be happy to share with everyone interested. :) Feel free to email me: galligher106@att.net.

Welcome to the Forum.

That is an interesting concept you describe. If you want to post photographs of your new creation, the material at this link may be of help:

Richard,
I am not very good at posting pics, or using links. Any chance I could email you my pics and you could help me with this?
Thanks,
Tom

I think this link is correct for the pics:
