wallet holster?
« on: October 09, 2004, 11:02:26 AM »

Has anyone tried back pocket carry with an R9s?  Did you use an anti-print panel?  How as it worked out for you?

Has anyone tried a wallet style holster with an R9s ?  If so, how do you like it?

I have sold just a few.   They take a large back pocket.

I have a basic black Ron Graham Rear Pocket holster for my R9s and it just, and I mean just, fits in my rear blue jeans pocket.

It's tough to fit the gun and the pocket,  If I minimized the panel, some would say it's too small...

I have one of RJ's wallet holsters..... I could not be happier with it.  I carried an AMT 380 in a Sam Andrews wallet holster for years as a backup followed by a KelTec P3AT also in an Andrews.  RJ's holster fits nicely in the right hip pocket of my jeans or dockers type pants.  His design approach allows me to get a good initial grip much easier.  I have carried my R9s in it every day since RJ sent it to me.

That's just what I needed, a good endorsement.  I tend to over caution my customers.  ;D

I have been a fan of RJ's "Back Pocket" holsters with their full counter-print panels since he created the design the better part of a decade ago.  I have several of his "Back Pocket" models, including one for my R9s.  Contrary to their designation, I usually carry them in my strong-side front pocket.  Recently, though, I have become a convert to RJ's new and improved "Limited Edition" holster with its curved back panel.  That design is the subject of an earlier thread under this header.

Notwithstanding requests from many of his customers for belted and IWB holsters, RJ makes ONLY pocket holsters.  One thing which is certain about them is that they are truly works of art.

Mr. Hedley's Wallet Holster
« Reply #10 on: December 30, 2004, 01:42:56 AM »
I'm resurrecting this thread as I have recently received Mr. Hedley's RB-RS back pocket holster. It is artfully crafted, fits like a glove, and carries very, very well in my back pockets, front pockets, and, important for me, it fits perfectly in the right breast pockets of my suits and sport coats.

There is no printing what-so-ever and it is very comfortable. I like to carry back pocket 'wallet' holsters in my front pocket depending upon what style of pants I am wearing. Even in tight jeans (they seem to be getting tighter by the day!) the holster makes it appear as if I'm carrying a wallet, PDA, or, with a set of earphones dangling from my pocket, a small walkman type of radio.

In my back pockets the holster just fits most of my jeans and sits well below the pocket tops of my khakis and dress pants. Mr. Hedley's holster will no doubt be my primary carry holster for my Rohrbaugh - it is just outstanding!
