I have no relationship with the seller. Just thought I would pass it on.

Looks real nice!
-
That does look good! I wonder who t***8 is?
-
It is a Deer Parker,"First" type of lettering on slide, but yet an over 1000 serial number?
The black CF grips should have been gone by then, and the new Deer Park marking should have started around this "time" period..
Whatever it is,looks like a nice example of the Pup!!

tampa78 whoever that is?
-
Yep! I'm still wondering! ;D

Bid at a thousand dollars now. Gene

Just talked to the guy that has the gun listed on GB. He said that he bought it at a gun show "a few months ago". He said that the guy he bought it from told him that "he'd bought it new a couple of years ago" and gave him the original receipt, and that he (the present owner) had thrown the receipt away. I dunno, lots of things don't add up in the story or the GB ad. I think I'll pass on this one. Gene
-
Lots of things don't always add up when your talking early R9. That does not mean its wrong or such, they just put weird combos together sometimes from the factory. Last month I bought a new old stock R9 from a guy that got it straight from the factory. At R973 it should of had black cf grips but it had blue ones and a dark gray frame. I've learned that anything is possible with a R9!
At $1000 its a great price in my mind.

That went up quick. Looks nice, but I like the cf patterning to be tighter.
-
Corey,
I agree that there are some odd mixes of serial #s with slides, and also grips.
The blue grip R973 from the factory is a bit different as they had a handfull of blues that they were going to use for special edition guns..
Going to assume that there will be several Pups go to sale w/o their original CF grips..
4 days left on the GB Pup,will assume it will go up,even though it's not a Farmie..
-
Stan1957 is the current high bidder, tampa78 will have to step it up if he wants the pup. ;D
John
-
My bet is tampa78 is done. ;D
-
lol... ;)
-
Non-rated bidder got the high bid. I wont sell to NR on Gunbroker, due to non payments. They have to email me before they bid. But, not selling my pup.

Very nice, there, duke; don't blame you for not selling.
-
Am I missing somthing here? Am I the only one who does not know who tampa78 is?
Should I, or should I not, jump into that auction. I don't want to step on toes if those toes are here on the forum.

These R9s, CF grips, Farmies, no R pre-fix, luv ya blues, etc. at auction do start the emotional wagons to circle, don't they?

I think you're good to go, if you want to bid; my bet was, tampa78 is done, and that's not me. :)

I guess thats all it took to beat the first bid that was there before mine. It would be SUPER COOL if nobody else bid on it and I got it for less than a buck! OUCH, who pinched me, I'm up, im up.... ;D

That would be COOL, but don't hold your breath. ;D

It's already up past 2 bills now.
-
You're just talking Franklins; I thought you meant two big ones.
-
Yikes....someone bid it up.
-
That's still an excellent price. Going to be interesting!
-
It's only money and you can't take it with you. ;D
John
-
I always keep that in mind. ;D
-
I am glad someone has clarified the "money" thing!!
I don't feel so bad now!! 8)
-
Yep! It's good to know! ;D
-
Just checked the cf grip R9 and it has a little over an hour left and is still at $1000. It did go from 4 bids to 5 bids, Stan1957 must really want it and bumpped his own bid up! I guess in the next hour we'll get to see if $1000 will take it home or not. I'm betting it goes up to $1105 but we shall see soon. 8)
-
There would be a bit more,if only a CC was accepted.. ;)
-
It went for a cool grand. I thought it would have went higher. O-well
-
Corey. I thought you would have jumped in there! Of course, you would have had to pay more than the cool grand, though. ;D
-
I would have only bought it for the grips and I had mixed feelings about buying it, taking the cf's off and replacing with G10's. Hope the new owner LOVES it for what it is!
-
It's only money and you can't take it with you. ;D
John
What? Where are we going?
-
Well, this one went for the Buy It Now Price; $975.00

-
What? Where are we going?
No where "you can't take it with you" ;D
John
-
You've got that right.
Heard a quote the other day that I thought was very appropriate. "Enjoy life, there are no luggage racks on a hearse".
;D
-
A friend of mine always said, " Live fast, Live hard, Die young and leave a good looking corpse "
That was his motto and just what he did, he died at 42.
John
-
Rather have the 40 more years than a good moto ;D
-
That is some kind of hard and fast to go at 42.
-
Sometimes you get what you ask for. One should be very careful. I know; Corey is going to be asking for more blues. ;D
-
Most of my friends who died young went hard and fast into a rice paddy or a Vietnam hill side. There was no pretty left to place in a casket.
-
I tromped the rice paddies of Nam. Some of my guys didn't return. I was one that beat the odds and God was not ready for me yet.
-
Thank you for that, Duke; it is much appreciated from you and those who are left there who are forever young.
-
Semper Fi :)
-
I never agreed with his motto, but it was his choice.
He had a problem with his blood pressure, and when the doctor told him one of the side effects of the medication could be with his erection, he only took the meds when he felt like it , and the blood pressure highs and lows screwed his kidneys up. Then while on home dialysis he got a blood clot in his leg and they had to amputate it, and he then developed dry gangrene and they had to remove some of his toes on his remaining foot, and some finger tips.
Then one morning his girlfriend called me and said he had died in his sleep, they said it was a blood clot that went to his brain.
Rest in peace Bill.

I rode PBR's (River Boats) and PCF's (Swift Boats) in Nam , always tried to keep my feet out of the mud, you ground pounders had it rough. Bravo Zulu to all of you.
