Browning 1911 A1 22 LR
« on: December 11, 2011, 11:40:24 PM »
Has anyone shot a Browning 1911 22LR? I have been trying to find one here in Ohio but they sell out fast. One local store is taking orders. The Browning web site stated the gun is built to 85% scale.

No, but that looks like a winner to me except for the 8 lb. trigger.

I called around the state today and found one 80 miles away. I made a quick road trip to get it. The Browning web site sayes it is 85% of a full size 1911 A1 but seems a lot smaller . I'll clean and shoot it tomorrow. :)

Jack:

I'm looking forward to your range report and wishing you the best. The only semiauto I have owned that was chambered for .22LR was a Walther PPK I purchased from a fellow officer in Germany back in the '60s. It was a relatively rare chambering for a Walther at the time. I had a literal "blast" with the little pocket rocket. Unfortunately, I let it go several years ago in a trade I have since regretted. That Browning of yours has to be a keeper.

Edit: I just remembered a Beretta Bobcat Model 21 I once owned but let go due to the occasional trait of its pop-up barrel to drop a hot brass casing down any available open shirt (or more specifically, "blouse") of a shooter. (But that is another story for another time.   ;D )
