Well, I have both; the front pocket holster and the back pocket holster, all by Meco.  However, I prefer the back pocket holster and use it in the front pocket; like the back panel.  Others have their likes, I'm sure, and rightfully so.

Meco makes a great holster and also Jim at Hidden Holsters.

Congratulated you on ordering the Robar on another post, however, congrats again and good luck on your holster decision.

Bryan, in regards to your query about front vs rear pocket. The only person who can answer this is you, unfortunately, this usually requires a lot trial and error. Which consumes both time and money. I believe your best bet would be to call Robert at Meco holsters and get his advice. He will be happy to answer any questions for you. And with no pressure or comittment to buy anything. (1 210 626 2370)  Good luck, Gene

Gene is right but it is my opinion that most people I have heard on this forum prefer the front pocket carry with whichever holster you prefer. There are always reasonable minds who will differ, however.

Meco left front, Graham right front,  JJ Surrusco rear.

I use the two fronts all the time, wether left or right depends upon what other gun I'm carrying as well.
I feel more comfortable with front pocket carry - more concealable and faster on the draw.

For me and my dress, I feel if someone is behind me looking down they can see the gun in the back pocket, my pants just don't seem to have enough material to cover the whole grip.

Reinz,
You need to do like Richard does with his side pocket and have them made deeper. ;D

The seamstress calls it "making a holster holster." She's done it so many times for me that last month she said she was  applying for her own Handgun Carry Permit.   8)

12" deep along the front crease from the belt line; 5" wide and squared at the bottom.

Richard - I'm confused; is this mod to the front or rear pockets?

Reinz:

Sorry about the confusion created by haste. That is the modification I have made to the right front pocket of every pair of suit pants, slacks, or BDU's I purchase.  I rarely employ back-pocket carry. That's just a matter of personal preference.
