I would like to purchase some extra springs for my recently purchased pup. Any suggestions? This forum is so helpful with the knowledge. Thanks
-
There is nowhere at the moment, unless someone has existing stock laying around. They should be available direct from Rohrbaugh again soon. Exactly when remains to be seen, but you should see an announcement here on the forum.
And welcome to the forum! :)
-
If you are in need of them ASAP, then maybe you could contact Wolf springs to see if they have any. Just a thought.

You probably didn't see it but on a previous post I said that I had talked to the Wolff Springs owner, Dave Wolff, and he said that he doesn't have any R9 springs in stock and has no plans to make them.
I missed that post.......wow!! That is crazy!! Since I go through springs frequently, I am really glad a have a bunch stocked.
Keep us posted if you hear anything further.

Wolf may have them in the future

Any which way is welcome.

I agree beggars can't be choosers. But it would be nice to be able to buy recoil springs by themselves.

Just noticed on Gun Broker a seller has some for $19.95 EACH + Shipping. WOW! :o Some kind of inflation going on. Wolff springs soon.
-
That sounds like temporary inelastic demand forces at work. Somebody will pay it rather than wait.

Here they are; get them while they're hot:

Just placed an order. Was very simple and quick. Now we wait to see how long.

Thanks for the heads up. If they are in stock, I bet they ship tomorrow.
Wolff is a good outfit to work with. A lot of the time Dave Wolff will answer the phone. My old gunsmith used to call up Dave and give him the length, OD, number of coils, and wire size of obsolete springs and Dave would send him whatever he had close and they always worked.
-
Just ordered a five-pack.
With the couple I have, that's probably a lifetime supply for the way I use this gun (carried much, shot little.)
Woo hoo! 8)

Thank you/ Just ordered 5 pack myself ( 34951 Rohrbaugh R9 Outer Recoil Springs Pak of 5. ) I hope they are the same as Factory Recoil Springs . Aldo, I don't see why not, right?
-
Wolff made the same springs that were sold by Rohrbaugh; not to worry.

Thank you. ::)
-
Thanks for the information
-
Wolff deserves the credit for under promising and over delivering on the time frame.
-
I ordered a pack of 5, and 1 pack of complete springs, so I have 6 recoil springs total.
Very happy now.
-
Thanks guys. Now I can shoot my Rohrbaugh that I carry 24/7. Ordered both sets of springs thanks to Wolff. :)
-
I just called Wolff at1 800 545 0077
Talked to Susan and ordered both sets # 34950, 3 different springs $10.99
# 34951, 5 outer recoil $24.99
Basic ship $3.99
She was great and also said they have "plenty" , "just brought a box up"
My last order from Rohrbaugh included cap piece, barrel pins and others
??? What other parts would be good to order that could be lost or broken ?????
-
They just added a sear/trigger bar spring today.

Thanks Tracker - I just ordered a few of those.
-
Me too. Wolff has been our one bright spot on the forum for awhile.

Just to echo the comments referenced above, I called Wolff this morning and ordered springs. Wolff's customer service in general and Susan's help in particular were fantastic. She said they had plenty of springs and was also very complementary of Rohrbaugh.
-
Does the sear/ trigger bar spring wear like the recoil spring? Should I order one?
-
IMO, the short answer is no. I only ordered one "just in case." The Rohrbaugh web site only shows that the outer recoil spring was for sale on a routine basis.
-
Thank you
-
Woo Hoo !
I received my recoil springs in the mail today,
Wolff is GRRrreat !
-
Me, too. I hope they sell a lot of them. They really took care of us in first class fashion.
-
Ordered springs on 6-21-14, Got them today. Not bad turn around. ( Now I can sell them on GB for big bucks.)
-
Good luck on that one; supply and demand laws work almost every time. :) You must have received a special run because your spring package label says "Roughbaugh." Maybe you can sell them for big bucks. I only got the standard issue Rohrbaugh model.

Does the sear/ trigger bar spring wear like the recoil spring? Should I order one?
According to Eric -- no -- the triggers springs don't have to be replaced anywhere near as often as the recoil spring.
-
Today I got my replacement springs, and I measured them . They are little longer/

-
Go figure; they are supposed to have come from the same place. Each one has six coils.
-
Perhaps springs are like snowflakes...
I don't think the length is the critical factor, so long as the strength of the spring is appropriate and it fits. I'll ask Eric what he thinks.
-
It appears that the space between coils is greater on the recent springs.
-
At first I thought that maybe I was wrong. And I looked at all the springs and compared them to original one. Also interesting to know how many pounds of pressure Wolf's springs and original one.
By feel, Wolf springs harder then original.

-
Maybe we can go 300 rounds now between a spring change.
-
Or maybe the new Wolff springs stand up to 147gr loads better than the original but are too much for something like 115gr Blazzer Brass to cycle reliably?
I don't want to be the guinea pig because I freak out over any malfunctions with my carry gun, but I'd be interested to see how the guns perform with different loads with the new Wolff springs.
-
Since Wolff has been the only supplier of springs, I think we can be confident they will work. ;)
-
Wolff will have a pound rating on their website in the near future. A technician there told me today that the rating should be the same as the Rohrbaugh factory rating even though they appear to be different. He explained that there are many variables such as number of coils, space between coils, wire diameter, etc. to achieve the same result.

great to know it. Thank you.

Thank you for posting the photos and posing an excellent question. It will be interesting to hear feedback from the range.
-
Just out of curiosity - Has anyone else compared a factory original unused spring with a newly received spring from Wolff?
-
I just compared the two springs and confirm that the two are exactly as shown in Svarog's photos. I also compared one of the original open ended factory springs that only went in one way and it is the same length as the new springs from Wolff.
