Title: New Blaster
Post by: yankee2500 on September 11, 2013, 10:48:16 PM
I sold my MSAR Bullpup and bought a Tavor. I'm very happy with it so far, only about sixty rounds through it but no issues at all.

Nice piece, now if the price would come down...... There are a lot of guns in that price range

How loud is it being so close to the end of the barrel when you fire it?

I've pretty much all but decided that I am going to get a Tavor.

I am wondering how accurate the 9mm carbine kit for it is going to be.  I have a weird obsession with 9mm.  I want 9mm everything.  I'm going to buy the Alfa Proj 9mm revolver when Czechpoint U.S.A. gets them in back in stock.  I'm even tempted to buy the DoubleTap Defense 9mm derringer, even though it is basically the same size as the Rohrbaugh, heavier than the R9, holds 5 less rounds and has a pretty crappy trigger.  I still want it because it is a 9mm derringer.

I have never been a fan of the M16.  I was in the service for 11 years and had to qualify with it about every 2 or 3 months, and I competed in with it, but I just never liked it.

I am convinced that the Tavor is a top notch weapon system.  I wish they'd make a 12ga shotgun based off of it - that would be the tits!  Man that would be great, basically the same gun that fires 5.56, 9mm and 12ga

Dumb question here but do the tavor weapons take regular AR mags?

Not a dumb question but the answer is yes and the current mag of choice seems to be the PMAG.

That piece projects more than lead.  It projects an image -- the image of, "Don't tread on me."

I loved the MSAR when you bought that, what makes this better?
Please don't get me wrong, I would love a pullpup designed carbine.

The MSAR was nice but when they went bankrupt I lost faith in the company and then came back but who knows what lies down the road for them also mine did not take AR mags just the proprietary MSAR mags.
The tavors are battle proven by the Israeli military and several other armies and police agencies have adopted them as there primary battle rifle.

Thank you for that reply.
Like I said, when you first bought the MSAR I did back flips and wanted one, just not really allowed for me to own.

Congratulations on the Tavor. It is cool!

I added an aftermarket fore grip and installed an Aluminum rail on the bottom and an EagleTac T20C2 MKII XM-L2 U2 850 Lumen light.
