You are correct in that the machining process was changed.  It was changed after serial number 147 (no-R) was made.  Then the R prefix serial number guns started over at 100.  The R stood of Reinforced best I remember.  If there was another machining process change, which there very well could have been, its the first I have herd of.

I still wish you the best in selling it.   If your $2500 price was in line regardless of the economy it would have sold for that,  it did not.  It did not sell at $1500 either and I feel its because of the economy.

If you like I can have a third party break down a slightly lower serial number than R176 and a slightly higher serial number one and look for those differences you think are there.

If there is a unique machining change associated with R176 there may not be anyone willing to pay a premium for it. The market seems to have spoken on that issue, at least for now.

Even the "R9s" slide designation didn't sell it and that feature is more visible, rarer, and less abstruse than a machining process change.

The slide being Farmy and marked R9s is what makes the gun "interesting" IMO..Not a machining change, even if proven..

Continued luck on the sales front..

It seems that no matter what type of Rohrbaugh you have, selling any Rohrbaugh for $2500 is a massive challenge. As evidenced on Gunbroker many times. It could be that most people feel they just are not worth that amount of money. At that price level they are playing in the Wilson, Night Hawk, Ed Brown, et al , heady company to be trying to lure a buyer that would spend that much into buying a compact 9mm when there are quite a few out there for somewhat less money and equal quality. It is not the same market now as when the Rohrbaugh was first introduced and was fairly alone in it's position in the 9mm Market.
But I wish the seller good luck on his sale, but as we all know, it is only worth an amount if someone is willing to pay it.
