L.A. Vickers Custom Series 70
« on: September 13, 2004, 04:54:08 PM »
I have a Series 70 Colt in .45 ACP that was fully customized by Larry Vickers several years ago. Larry was written up in American Handgunner a couple of years later-he's regarded as one of the finest pistolsmiths out there and seems to have retired, making his custom jobs even more desireable.

My question is, how do I figure out what to ask for the gun? Several people have expressed interest in it, but I am not sure of its value. I have my receipts-so know what my cost is.

Any and all advice will be appreciated. Thanks

I would post it at  http://www.pistolsmith.com/,,   There are buyers there, as well as here, but that's a hot spot for 1911's.

rtw,  Is there any way to show photos of the piece? That might help us get an idea of what the gun is worth and may even sell it.  Tom
