New Rohrbaugh Models -- Breaking News!
« on: August 09, 2007, 11:12:29 PM »
Breaking News, Rohrbaugh Fans…

Straight from the Rohrbaugh Factory – you heard it here first.  Rohrbaugh has announced two new models/configurations of the R-9 for their most discriminating customers!

R-9 Elite

An R-9 with Diamond Black (DLC) slide with  hand sanded sides as an accent.  Frame is black.  Polished feed ramp.  All levers have machined look.  G-10 grips.  All parts are hand selected for perfect fit and finish!   Retail: $1,395.

R-9 Elite Premium

Same as Elite, but all internal parts are glass beaded and polished by their in-house jewler to include: polished feed ramp, trigger, trigger spring, hammer, ejector, barrel top, and all pins.  Magazine housing is glass beaded, then the backs are sanded to a satin look by hand.  The magazine base plates are high polished by hand.  Grips are carbon fiber (while they last).  Other grip materials are being investigated for use after the short supply of CF grips is exhausted.

Rohrbaugh will also offer “Full Custom” R-9s built to your exact specs, with the price dependant upon the work requested.

Wow.  It sounds like these pieces are going to be true works of art.

The other two models will continue, the Two-Tone and the Stealth.  But, there will be a small price increase as of August 15 – the Two-Tone will retail for $1,150 and the Steath will retail for $1,195.

The Rohrbaugh website (www.rohrbaughfirearms.com) will be updated soon to reflect the new models.

Here are some rough photos to show you some of the details on the Elite model.  I hope these photos can accurately convey the level of detail and the painstaking extra work that is going into the Elite models to make them perfect jewels.

NICE! I like the look of the Slide...almost like Black Chrome.  :D
With all that internal polishing, that trigger has got to smoother than it already is.
What are the R Bros trying to do? Improve on Perfection?
Any word on the R45?

The carbon fiber grips are in short supply --- less than 20 pair left.  :'(  The remaining stock is being saved for these Premium Elite models.

However, Karl is working on some new materials for optional higher-end grips that sounds very promising...  ;D

Give Maria a call at the factory -- 1-800-803-2233 or
631-242-3175.  Have it delivered to me, and I will do the pre-delivery inspection for you.   ;D

Do I understand correctly that we could order one through the factory and have it sent to a ffa holder in our state. I am looking at getting a 2nd pup and that sure sounds like a hybrid pup.

Hello again everyone,

Yes, the special attention given to the guns is purty.  I hate to rain on the parade but all that polish is not going to seem so special after you fire a hundred rounds through the gun and the frame galling that is normal and will appear on every R9 shows up.  If you got the bucks then go for the top of the line.  If you are like me and work for a liveing, stick with the "regular" R9.

To order either, give Maria a call at the factory.

It probably goes without saying that either Elite model may be over-kill for a carry piece -- these are pieces of art that happen to be guns. ;)

By all accounts, the R-45 is a long time coming.  Karl would love to do it, but I don't think its coming anytime soon.
