So Whats a Discontinued Robar worth now???
« on: January 01, 2011, 02:30:28 PM »
Since Rohrbaugh has discontinued the Robar edition what are they going to be worth now. The Special Forces Rohrbaugh had the same retail price if I remember correctly and I have seen them listed for $4400 :o

And it shoots the same as a garden variety Rohrbaugh.

That's probably too early to tell yet, since the Robar was just discontinued.

Listed but not selling for that price. ;D I guess they are worth what someone who wants one is willing to pay.
The thing everyone needs to be careful of is a Special Forces Knockoff. From what I have read there were around 24 of the SFs made.
I would verify the serial number with Rohrbaugh to be sure it was one done by them before purchasing an SF.

Here is a post from the past about the knockoffs.

The dealer was very open about it not being a factory SF but one sent to Wilson by them-- he said this was the first of 10 they plan to do.
Means we gotta be careful if we're looking at a SF down the road to verify it's a real SF as it's fairly easy to duplicate one and the original 24 or so the factory made are the only ones that will be actual collector pieces.

As far as the price of a "Discontinued  Robar" goes,  I don't think I've seen any new ones come available since Robrbaugh discontinued the offering.

A couple did show up on GunBroker recently, one at $1795, and another at $1500, used, and I'm thinking, that was before the Rohrbaugh discontinuance.

On the $1850 on a new one now;  could be.

There can't be many out there.

So what it is discontinued. I looked at  the Robar as any thing that any of us could have done, well for the most part.

That is beautiful.
I may have to have mine done eventually.
I'm toting it at the moment so it is difficult to give it up.
I should have kept my old one, I know I've said it before.

Maybe if I get the PF-9 to take the R-Nine's place long enough to get the Robar done.

How does it function?
Do you think that your R-9 will get scratched less?

I got it back from Robar in early August 09 and carry it all the time and have noticed no wear or scratches.
I am very pleased with the function since having it done, I have only had one ejecting round get caught before it cleared the chamber.

John,

Did you ship it to Robar without your CF grips?

I've always heard the Robar coating made the insides silky smooth.    :)
