Title: .8 wide 5 shot .45.
Post by: kevinqjhps on January 31, 2018, 07:17:47 AM
Just read where Heizer is now making a .8 wide 5+1 .45. They also have a 9mm in the works. A bit bigger than our R9's and at 28 ounces a bit heavier, but still a pretty cool idea. The trigger is on roller bearings, and the barrel is below the recoil spring.

Looks pretty cool.

p.s. I just looked at the video on GunsAmerica. It looks way too big for a pocket but perfect for a holster. It LOOKS a bit smaller than the KiMBER Solo..

I am supposed to be getting one for review.  They have been slow to market.

28 ounces?  That probably does not include an empty magazine.

I'm certainly not trading my XDs 45 off.

The .45 is SLOWLY making it's way to market. The 9mm is still pre production. I handled a Heizer today, 7.62X39. It is built like a swiss watch.I told my FFL to let me know the minute he gets one in. Please keep us posted.

I saw one of the Heizer 45 at the gun shop today.  It did not seem that heavy to me but looks fairly large and thin.

It did not look like $700 worth to me either.

Early on when these were first introduced, Karl & I shot one at the Remington R&D facility near Lexington, Kentucky in 2014. After shooting one round, I gave the gun back to the lead person and said:  "No thanks".  I did not need a second shot . . . . . . NOT fun to shoot at all.
I would never own one. Not even for free.

Ever shoot a 11 ounce S&W Scandium J frame in .357? That is something you will NOT forget.
