« on: January 17, 2010, 11:16:39 PM »
So what is the general consensus on the updated Rohrbaugh home site ?

They no longer show the CF grips on the R9 and tthe store is not open yet.  :o

No dealers in NC  :(  But The Irish Guard is listed for TX  ;D

Does look alot better. They even have Both of my Dealers here in Jacksonville listed. I was in one of their shops yesterday, He had (6) .380's and (0) R9's. He told me they cannot keep the R9's but the .380's are a tougher sell, so some deals can be had !  He also told me he contacted Rohrbaugh and told them not to send anymore 380's for a while. (They have standing orders with Rohrbaugh to automatically ship when available)

I've been there from the beginning and can ship any where in the country.

I also like the new site and I'm waiting for the store to open.

I like the new site as well. However, I Do Not understand the factory's (ongoing) obsession with the "public side" of the R9, in which barrel faces right exposing the ejection port in the photograph.

Aren't there any "private siders" out there?

ACP,

Aesthetics aside, I think a lot of people prefer to see the "working side" of the gun--ejection port, extractor, etc.. The Rohrbaugh owner's manual does show a view from both sides in the disassembly/assembly photos. I have seen some clever ads that show the gun pointed at each other with both sides visible. This format may require too much horizontal space on a web site while keeping a good sized photo. The photography was quite excellent on the Rohrbaugh site, I thought. After all, the idea is to sell guns.

Richard and tracker: Thanks, NOT. You really know how to hurt a guy.

But seriously, I do not think the Rohrbaugh is better served by showing the public instead of the private side. My opinion of course but that is my firm belief.

Are some guns better looking from the public side? Of course. They would be the Jennings, Hi-Point et al because who cares; they are ugly no matter which way you look at them.

If Richard only showed us his private side we couldn't see that young #132.
