Ask the TurkeyHunter from Florida or Mr. Driver.  I think the further out we get from the end of production, the higher the value will be on like new or unfired guns.  We're also going to see more well-worn examples for sale that have been in someone's pocket for five or tens years, dropped a few times, scratched, gouged, etc.

I have to agree with you on that but that is about 3 or 4 hundred high in my opinion.

I picked up a Farmingdale last week that certainly appears unfired though not listed that way with carbon fiber grips and everything in the box yet for 400 less than that.

I watch the number of visitors on this site and believe there is a lot of interest.  I don't know, maybe it's the retro porn drawing them.    ;)

I was in to it for $1350 but no higher, that is a crazy price. Nice gun but to ME it wasn't worth it. The buyer was a new guy, only 4 feedbacks and it wouldn't be the first time a newbie backed out. I have 312 Positive feedbacks and would NOT sell to new guys. Got burned a few times.

Seller was solid though. Lots of feedback, and a FFL. That's who you buy from.

I'm the newbie that paid too much for the gun. Paid for it right after the auction ended so don't worry about the seller getting burned. Congrats on all your positive feedback.

Ah haaa. . . . . So you bought that one hunter! Very cool. That is one of the last few guns I put together. The last sequential number frame was R6666 . . . .  sort of "The Devil" . . . .  lol. Good find there as it looks like new.

Welcome Turkey Hunter.  Congrats on your auction win.  What a gun is worth to one person is different than what it's worth to others. Some people want to wait for a great deal.  Others find the exact gun they want and don't want to wait for another to show up, that whole time is money thing.  I've paid a hundred or two "too much" for the exact gun I was looking for and I couldn't be happier.  This forum is full of Rohrbaugh fans who are knowledgeable and helpful.  Steer clear of the negative and you'll find this forum is a great resource for Rohrbaugh fans.

Thanks ECR and PhilZ. I have collected antique firearms for 40 years. Never paid too much the right gun. I don't collect modern firearms but a friend of mind showed me his R9 and I had to have one. Joined the forum recently to get educated on R9 and have found it very helpful. Thx again.

Hi Hunter,

PLEASE don't get me wrong. It is NOT too much if you can afford it and you want it. I was the one you were bidding against. I quit at $1350 because that was what it was worth to me. Hell I just bought my SECOND Security Industries revolver. Most, well ALL here, will see that as crazy. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Welcome to the site. Lots of info here.

I have been trying to figure out the best self-defense ammo for my new R9. I see a lot of discussion about different rounds. Some work well and some not very well at all? Is there a consensus view. Gold Dots? Thx

Turkeyhunter: I have been accused of overpaying for everything from cars to real estate. Remember the famous words of Oscar Wilde " My tastes in life are very simple. Just give me the best of everything!". You don't buy the best of everything cheaply. Not everything in life has to make economical sense either. I believe Winchester Silvertips were originally recommended.  People use a LOT of different STANDARD PRESSURE rounds but i'll stick to the Silvertips.
