Gray or Silver?
« on: May 21, 2004, 05:50:38 PM »
When I placed my order, I was asked if I wanted the frame to be gray or silver.  I picked silver.  What's your preference and why?

I picked gray.  I always like the look of two-tone guns.  This will give it some flair and make it look different than a Guardian or similar gun.  Besides, Eric Rohrbaugh suggested gray, so I agreed!

I choose silver, and the sighted model. I plan to have Ivory grips.  Don't know if I will shoot with them, but they will do very well for photo's !

Mine is gray.  I actually don't recall making the choice.  I guess it was when they were evaluating the new anodization - my gun happened to be one in the first batch they received back from the new folks they are using.  I happen to prefer the gray - I go for the less flashy.  So if I were to have made the choice, it would be gray.

I chose silver because I didn't want it looking like one of the polymer pocket autos.  I thought silver contributed more to the appearance of a finely crafted pistol.

I had a *Silver* one ordered, but was told that the silver had been discontinued for the time being, or until further notice.:(

I figured the change might be coming.  When I first talked with Eric about changing my frame from silver to grey, he indicated that most of what they were working on was the grey.

I see it as a temporary measure to catch up on some orders.

Mine is purple.  I think I am going to get the other one in black, if they ever offer it.

damn it.  I was ready to order a silver, sighted model.  Besides who wants a finish that can scatch, scuff, or otherwise wear off in a carry holster.  I don't know what i'm going to do now.  I'm not too thrilled about compromising on a $900 gun. Maybe I'll just get a PM9 or 3AT.

Nah, the grey has grown on me.  I defenetly think it looks better just more likely to show wear and tear.  I can't wait to get mine.  Thanks Eric.

The 1938 Nazi Weapons Law is alive and well in the United States, and is called, "The Gun Control act of 1968", and is enforced by the modern day gestapo, known as the BATF.

PM-9 is larger and not a pocket pistol. As to the Kel Tec 380, I own one, but I carry the Guardian 380.

You will not find a finer made firearm than the Rohrbaugh.

I am another that's not too happy about not being able to get what I consider to be the Standard frame color.  There are lots of sources for Clear hard anodize, maybe just not near-by in R.I.   The first mark on mine, and it will be re-done...
