I'm a fan of Titanium as well.  I found out a few years ago that I'm allergic to nickel.  I cannot wear a regular gold, silver, or platinum wedding band, as they use nickel as hardeners - I finally found titanium wedding bands.

Stainless steel contains nickel as well - so I had to find a watch with a titanium back and band.  Heck, even the cheap metal they make the snaps out of in a pair of jeans will cause me a problem (the exposed metal on the rear of the snap rests against your skin, if you don't have a shirt tucked in).

Prolonged exposure (hours and hours) results in large blisters forming on my skin that take weeks to heal.

Normal use of firearms isn't a problem, but I've grown to like titanium for other uses so it's a natural evolution for me. :)

Titanium carries with it some baggage. I just don't know if it would be the best choice, especially with other aluminum alloys out there.
