Prepper's lists the RM380 as illegal in 5 states - CA, CO, MA, MD and NY.  I'm in NY and I find no prohibition against R9's.

Perhaps an internal dealer policy?

Thanks for the link, I went ahead and ordered one for that price.  Nice people and delivered, insured and put on a credit card for under $370.00.

Should be here Monday or Tuesday.

MRC, you're the pioneer.

From what I can see they changed the angle of the trigger guard, its now more horizontal, but I don't think they changed the angle of the actual trigger.

One thing I do notice now is the rear of the grip goes higher / close to the slide before it flares out, and they put more of a beaver tail on there so I'm thinking a shooter may be able to get the web of their hand slightly higher on the gun.

I'm wondering if the changes are going to make it not feel like a Rohrbaugh or is here still enough similarity there - especially the trigger, that it still feels like an R9

If it is real similar I think it would be great to train with a RM380 instead of my R9, maybe at the end of a shooting session I'd put a few mags through my R9 but get a lot of meaningful practice with the RM380.

I saw that yesterday also.

Prepper's has 5 left and seemed like a good outfit.  I have never done business with them before.

I picked up the RM380 today.  The finish is better than I anticipated from looking at the pictures.  The trigger mechanism looks the same as the Rohrbaugh.  The trigger feels very much like the trigger on the Rohrbaughs.  I like that.  Here is some pictures.

The RM380 has a conventional mag release which is OK to me.  It is ambidextrous which I do not like.  The slide catch seems to work fine and I like that feature,

Takedown is the same as a Rohrbaugh and with the double spring and steel guide rod it is very simple.

One feature that I really think is an improvement is the firing pin retainer.  It is very similar to a 1911.  You push in the firing pin where the hammer strikes it and slide the retainer down to remove the pin and spring.  Easy to change the spring and clean everything.

Two black mags, one regular and one with finger grip.

All in all it looks better than I expected.  Anxious to shoot it, hopefully by the end of the week.

He still has not started on my 460 yet, grrr...

I read the manual last night.  No +P or +P+ ammo allowed.

That is disappointing for a low pressure cartridge like the 380 and a gun of that size.  Makes no sense to me.

Once Karl and I get our low serial numbered RM380s sometime around January / February, we will look them over and give you our evaluation as to whether or not +P 380 ammo is ok in the unit or not. They look pretty good so far. Happy about that! . . . . and I'm sure Remington is also!  lol

Looks like the feed ramp on the RM380 has a steeper angle.

I'm wondering about the overall length too - is it really jusy .07 inches longer than the original?  They put a little bit of a beaver tail on there.

For $340.00 and a semi-endorsement from MRC, I ordered one today. I just had delivered a larger gun safe...so sad to see it so empty...

Norm, I have got to shoot it and try it out in my pocket to make sure the mag releases are not a problem before I go further.

The front strap is grooved which is a nice touch.  My Solo is checkered and for +P ammo it really helps.  I wish the R9's had been that way.

The grip screws are a #7 torx head which I like.

I have seen a lot better looking guns, but probably not in the $340 price range.

Just checked my LGS's and nothing available yet. I guess I'll wait till I get to FL. and check down there. By the way there are 21 on GB. Looks like there all trying to break the bank though.
