Caspian Titanium 1911
« on: November 08, 2015, 06:51:31 PM »
I waited over a year, but the wait was worth it. The Caspian 3.6" Officers Titanium 1911 frame I ordered finally came in. Everything else in it is Wilson Combat. It weighs 23 ozs., and shoots like holding onto a cloud. I think that I will keep this one...really.

Nice pistol Norm, I assume it is in 45 ACP?

Just out of curiosity, what do they recommend for lubrication between the stainless steel and the titanium?

Yes, it is a .45. Not to hopefully ever have a problem, Caspian micro-welds tungsten carbide onto the frame rails to retard wear and prevent galling. I haven't even thought about a lubricant yet. I need to talk to other Caspian Titanium owners I think.

I'd get a hold of Caspian on that.

Titanium and SS neither one machine very well so I wondered how they worked that out.

My Gunsmith builds competition 1911's and most of them shoot 1.5" at 50 yards out of a Ransom Rest.  He uses the Accu Rail system with great success.
