Just when Spring was about to arrive at Critter Creek, this was the scene this morning:

Yes, the weather has been gentle with us this year here in the Great Smoky Mountains while it has been hammering you all up there in Great Lakes area and eastward. I had just thought about heading out to the Bubbling Springs range in the National Forest this weekend, but that dusting of snow yesterday morning is now 4" of snow covering ice. There was a time in my life when that would just have made a range trip more interesting. At my age now, though, I think I'll stay by the fire in the cabin and amuse myself by cleaning and dry firing (Snap Caps) a few firearms instead.
