Just purchased my first 1911 and I must say I love it. Put 150 rds through it and back today to shoot a couple hundred more. Ordered Winchester Ranger +P 45 to keep it happy. I am thinking of sending it to Robar for NP3. ;)

Great gun, not only will it not be your first 1911, it will not be your only Kimber.
At one time I had over 30 Kimbers, until the Tax Man caught up to me.
Now I think I have a half dozen maybe.

Dberg, Enjoy that kimber. I have one of their full size standard models and love it. I haven't found any ammo it won't eat.

Dburg, Congrats on the Kimber. They are fantastic .45's that shoot great. Would love to see one Robared.
I have 3 Kimber's in my collection..2 Custom Shop Eclipse' from the initial run - 5 inch "Custom" and 4 inch "Pro" both NIB unfired. My shooter is a Covert Pro with Crimson Trace grips.
Will probably sell the 5 Inch Custom Shop gun soon to fund my next pup. Really am getting nuts over Farmingdales and the auction gun is growing on me.

Yes, it would appear that you have definitely contracted "The Fever." The good news is that you can obtain symptomatic relief from the acquisition of another Rohrbaugh. The bad news is that the symptomatic relief will be only temporary, since there is no cure for "The Fever." ;)

Those who do have Kimbers. What would you say is the break in time for this weapon? I have shot a little more then 200 rounds through it and have had 2 jams. I know this normal. I just re cleaned it and used Wilson's Combat grease. I will see how it acts tomorrow.

I've been fortunate and haven't experienced any jams in a bit over 200 rounds on a Covert Pro.
My shooting buddy had a half dozen jams in the first 100 rounds. An authorized Kimber smith changed the recoil spring under warranty and it's been fine for about 300 rounds.
Same mags, Wilson's, used the whole time. I don't like Kimber's mags.

All my Kimbers were shooters and never had to "break them in".
They did great out of the box. Each one had anywhere from one to probably six thousand rounds through them. Some were shot more than others.
The only gun I ever had to "break in" was my Les Baer 1911 because of it's excessive tightness.
After 200-300 rounds it is dependable.

I just picked up my first 1911 today, a Colt Combat Commander. I haven't even had a chance to shoot it and have to work this weekend, so it might be a few days.
I am excited about the chance to put some rounds downrange though.

My first 1911 was a Colt also, Gold Cup National Match that was almost 30 years ago, I still have it and it is a great shooter.

Well, I guess it's actually just a Colt Commander, and not a Combat Commander. Pardon my confusion due to the myriad of choices and options when looking at 1911 style pistols. Since I know everyone likes pictures, here is a pic of my newest treasure.

My wife wants a Kimber Ultra Supercarry w/ Raptor grips as her next gun. She really likes the balance and size of them.

She has really learned alot since she got her Conceal carry license. When she is looking at guns she always makes sure of a few things,
1. Looks (Of Course) if she does not like the looks she goes no further (It is in her genes I think)
2. Balance and size (Depending on use and plans for carry)
3. If she can Operate it (She does not have alot of hand strength)
If she likes all that then it is up to me to figure out if the quality is there. (I have a tendancy to like those "Lifetime" warrantees :)
I like the Kimber super carry, they rounded off many of the edges, and have almost a Bobtail , though not as pronounced as my Nighthawk's. She likes the Raptor grips that match the "Scales" on the Super Carry better than they match the Scales on the raptor. I am hoping they will fit with a little massaging.
