Title: H&K P7 K3

I know there are a few fans of the P7 on this board.  Here is one I picked up yesterday that is not seen very often.

NIB P7 K3 with all three barrels.  380 Auto, 32 Auto, and 22 L.R.

Very nice, a P7 is on my bucket list but I need to get a second R9 first. Give us a range report when you can. Congrats on the new addition!

I love P7's! I have a PSP. I had mine finished in NP3+ and got some walnut grips for it.

Very nice and with all the calibers.  Its one I have on my Gun bucket list.  Got one in college and another to go so it will have to wait.

I find German Engineering fascinating, not always particularly good, but fascinating.

Unlike the 9mm P7 which used a gas operated retarded blowback, the P7 K3 uses an oil filled buffer to aid in it's straight blowback system.  The buffers which look like a small shock absorbers blew out quite frequently making the pistols inoperable except for 22 lr.  Because of this the gun realized limited sales.  H&K in turn quit making the replacement buffers rendering the guns useless.

An Engineer from Las Vegas went to Germany and consulted with HK and came up with a better design that lasts practically indefinitely.  He is making and marketing the buffers in this country.

I find this a very strange setup.

Interesting! I've not seen a K3. Is the overall size the same as the 9mm PSP and P7M8?

I'd be interested in seeing pics of the recoil buffer used in that gun.

To me, the P7 family in general is mechanical art!

You got my interest up as I had not compared the two.  I do not know for sure, but I think that less than 1000 of the K3 got imported to the USA.

Here are some pics with my P7M8.  The K3 seems smaller but the difference is not much.
