Title: Farmingdale #143 S slide Original Blues SPF
Post by: Brenden on December 13, 2013, 07:14:35 AM
Selling one of my prizes,a Farmie with original blue grips and a non R prefix serial number. Has the R9S designated slide!!
I bought this from original owner and sold to a member of this board. Regretted selling and "repurchased".. It was one of the only non Rs that was on the board for a long time.

Pup is in great shape, appears to be only one little scuff on back of grip(frame)but has only been shot a handful of times as this was a collector piece, but can still be used for Pup purposes!!
Has the most beautiful blue carbon fiber grips that you will ever see!! One of the first 48 early grey anodized frames.

I have paperwork stating this guns provenance by Karl Rohrbaugh that will come with gun, along with a couple early brochures/pamphlets,box. Edit to add that spare mag also included.

Will try to ad pics but I'm new to doing so with my cell, but will do so later with computer if needed.

Asking 1700.00. Will consider including shipping for a serious buyer. Ask anyone that has dealt with me,I'm pretty easygoing and would like this to go to someone that appreciates the history of these Farmies!!

Thanks for your consideration and feel free to PM/email any questions.

There can be no doubt about the provenance of 143.

Note to self; remember to have a stash of hold out cash in early December.

And also in April, for that is when we saw the Rohrbaugh's selling some of their personal guns!

This sure would be a nice one to have!  Good luck with the sale!

It would make a great Christmas present for sure!
I am willing to entertain offers for this fine Pup but I will say that when I bought it the second time I paid 2k. Thought it was worth every penny!
This is the only place I've listed this,I'd really like someone here to get a shot at this at a good price for them too I would hope.

Surprised this is still available....

I remember a few years back we had a forum auction for one with paperwork, etc and there was only 1 bidder, if I recall correctly...

I think that we as Pup owners don't put as much "value" as we should, into them.
As an "OP" (original Pup) owner, I have always felt that the first of our kind are a seperate breed and oh so valuable.

It is what it is,a beautiful,Farmingdale made, hard to come by,piece of working art!

Thanks again all.

Whew, glad I have limited internet access while away and didn't see this earlier.

Adam, I hope that maybe you are able to end up with a collectable pup in the kennel again.  This would be a great one to have!

I guess the Tribute is still a few months out yet, right?

Merry Christmas brothers.

Thank you Will.
If the deal goes through. This would be in place of the Tribute. You are correct. The tribute is still about 3-4 months out.

Merry Christmas to all!

Congrats to both buyer and seller.

Adam, as you know the pre-R Farmingdales are as collectible as they come. Enjoy in good health!

Will be interesting to see what it brings given recent happenings (or lack there of)

You beat me to it - I just came here this morning to post the same thing.

It looks like the grip screws were replaced this year as it now has the non-original black ones on it.

If I had the dough I'd buy it back a third time!!! ;)

I am sure that the Farmies will hold and gain value as a "new" model of the Pup is produced!

Indeed. It wasn't me. I guess maybe it goes to show what effect the current status of the company has on resale value. It appears that this firearm had gone down in resale value as far as what one is willing to pay - if it really sold for $1700 at the end of last year.  But then again how do you explain the R400 series farmingdale that sold for near $2000 at the end of last month?  Yes, someone got a good deal on this pup - as it changes hands yet again.

I really think it was a poor time to try and sell that gun. Sometimes having to sell can't be avoided but I think the early guns will be worth a lot more even in couple years.

So I've been thinking about this still.  I wonder if keywording has anything to do it.  When listed as an R9S, it is not picked up in a title search for "R9" on Gunbroker.  However, if you had searched for "Rohrbaugh" in the title without any model designation whatsoever, it would have shown up.  Just a thought...  So in summary, a search for "Rohrbaugh R9" in the title would not turn up this gun...not sure if that matters or not.  I guess it depends how people search...
