What's up with Pale Horse Holsters?
« on: February 21, 2007, 02:50:52 PM »
Anyone ordered from them lately.  I have had a holster ordered for my .38 and I have sent them 4 or more e-mails
recently w/o the courtesy of a reply.  Wondering if anyone
else is having difficulty in getting them to respond, etc.......
Thanks kindly.

I have an order pending since November.        I added to it  in January and they sent an e - mail acknowledgement telling me they would add it to my original order.

Reinz:  Good to hear you have made headway with them.
My order has been in pending status for 12 or 13 weeks.
Now, they just ignore my e-mails.  I even sent one today
asking just to cancel and send my ____money back.  Still
nothing.  I can't find a telephone number to call them either.
We'll see if they ever respond.  Too bad they are in ?Oregon
and I'm in Florida; or I would pay them a quick visit.  This
is not good or even fair customer service.  I guess they have
plenty of business so who cares about 1 order........ Nice.

If you feel they are Not being business like and they are way over the time of sending you the product (If you Paid using Paypale) make a COMPLAINT with paypale and they will start action against Pale horse holsters, it is good to hear complaints like this, that way  other members can stay away from these type of dealers.

RJ Hedley was the best I delt with, when I sent  a e-mail he always responded to let you know what was going on.

I hope he starts operating soon. :)

I agree Ratzo.  Could be they are so busy it is difficult to
answer e-mails.  I heard from "Ross" who replied to my e-mails and he said the holster had been cut and was drying and I should have it w/i a week or so.  Graham does make good holsters.  Mr. Hedley is right up there with the quality, too.
I'll get one of his next when he is back with it.  Thanks all.
Take it easy, Ratzo.

One45 - I definitely understand your frustration, since I am in the same boat.
At first it bothered me that no phone number could be found as well.  But after reading more on the website and seeing that it is a one man operation, I came to understand.

Most of us "gun people" are a talkative bunch, even the manufacturers.  If this guy posted his phone number, customers would be calling him so much, he would not have any time to make holsters at all.  I know I would call him wanting to discuss a custom this, a custom that.....

And actually, "no phone policy" is not uncomon in the industry as well as some gunsmiths.  Right off the bat, Thad Rybka Holsters only deals by mail only, period.  And I have heard of others.

Now, there is NO EXCUSE for not replying to e-mails.

My bottom line, I'm going by faith, knowing he is a one man shop, in high demand.  And his work is recommended by forum members.

I have a leather order with another maker that is going almost a year now, which is common for him as well. and he is a one man shop.

I think if you can be patient, which is hard when you don't agree with his business practices, it will be worth the wait.

Hey Reinz - I hear you.  I have a couple other holsters fm.
Ron Graham and they are nice ones.  Also I'm hearing you and you must be referring to Mr. DelFatti and his waiting list.
I'm not sure I have the patience to wait that long.  I wanted
to order a Valtro 1911, but who knows what the wait time is
with Mr. Jardine; again a one-man shop.  Anyhoo, thanks for
the input.  Regards.  I'm out.

I placed an order with PaleHorseHolsters on 12/13/06. After a month, I asked for an update. It required multiple emails to get a response. I was given an estimated date which has now passed. Earlier this week, I emailed them again and got an immediate response that my order was due in a week.

Glioma - too bad they are so slow to respond to inquiries.
I see they have ammended their website to indicate wait times
have increased to many, many weeks.  Hopefully, we both get
our holsters in the future.  Take care.

More BS - I was told a week ago Friday that the holster was
cut and drying and I assumed it would be shipped.  I have
again sent several more e-mails asking for status.  No replies.
Have sent an e-mail to Ron himself; whether he actually gets
it remains to be seen.  I tell you what - this a fine example of
no-customer service.

UPDATE:  Rcvd. the J-frame holster today.  Pocket
holster with front side out of ostrich skin.  Beautiful work; too
bad the communications with Palehorse so crappy.  I did receive a very quick response, next day, from Ron himself apologizing for delay and he indicated they were moving into
different facilities.  Maybe their comms. will improve.  I'm out.

Finally received my holster from PaleHorse. It was ordered 12/13/06, and it was delivered this week. So they do eventually deliver, but I'm not sure I'll order from them again any time soon.
