Range report
« on: March 31, 2009, 06:49:47 PM »
Finally gotta round to shooting my R9 this a.m. Shot almost 60 rounds with one failure. I'll give the failure the benefit of the doubt and say that it was user error :-/.  It literally devoured everything else:

Federal American Eagle FMJ
WWB FMJ
Aluminum cased Blazers FMJ
Hornady Critical Defense (1 FTE)
Gold Dots
Silvertips

Accuracy was acceptable with all brands, but the gun definately prefered the Silvertips and Federal FMJ. The Federals were actually the most accurate of the bunch holding a 2 /1/2 inch group with a first shot flyer to spread it to around 5 inches. This was at approximately 21 feet.

I took a Glock 19 along for comparison on recoil. Although the Glock was better, there really wasn't a huge difference in my opinion. The R9's recoil really was surprisingly good for a small, lightweight pistol.
So there ya have it. Another satisfied owner ;D
