Looks like it coming from the thinnest part of the rail groove[?]

I sure there will be no problem with a replacement slide.  It's just one of those thing that "Happen".  

The whole gun must be returned, for fitting of new slide...

Just my thoughts, I sure that will be the outcome..

As RJ indicated, the crack started at what could be considered an intrinsically weaker point due to less mass at that point - but still shouldn't happen. Not only will Rohrbaugh replace it, I am sure they will give it a detailed metallurgical exam that will provide them with very useful information to ensure that this is not a design flaw. Even failures can be helpful at times!

Let us know what happens.

My new G-36 cracked its slide about 300rnds into its brief life.

Glock replaced it.

I still have the gun and it it's doing well.

Just to let everyone know these things happen.. what's important is how they are handled.
