Title: + P Ammo
Post by: Alphonso on October 26, 2010, 11:12:45 AM: I know that the R9 is not rated for +P. I don't want to use it and don't plan to use it.

I'm curious, though, if anyone else has and what the results were...

Post by: yankee2500 on October 26, 2010, 05:30:32 PM: I would guess a couple of rounds probably would not cause a catastrophic failure, but the pounding to the gun over time would shorten it's life. The difference between a +p and standard pressure round from a 2.9" barrel will not be worth the beating to the pup or the shooter. IMO

I would love to see videos and a detailed write up of this kind of experiment. Hell, I'd even chip in a few bucks. Seems like kind of a waste of such a nice (and expensive!) gun though.

As to the destructive test field report, consider for a moment that rich guys got that way for a reason and the last thing they would want to do is ruin a perfectly good R9.
