Toad, I asked a dealer selling a gun on Gun Broker for the serial number and he said they couldn't give it out for security reasons. When I replied that I thought that was odd he said people have claimed the gun is theres and was stolen.
Sounds like a bunch of BS to me at least for a dealer who will have invoices and documentation for all his inventory.

Yankee, thanks for the info...guess someone could claim that, probably hard to prove, but that makes sense as to why the serial number should be hidden.

Well there are really only 10 possibilities, right? LOL. If you want the exact serial number PM me and I'll supply it.

some of these guns have been sold in-state person to person, or at gun shows in the parking lot.  No documentation (and some have been, in fact, stolen at some point in the past).  No use in asking for trouble, whether spurious or correct, the accusation can cause real problems, and if true, the pistol reverts to the wronged owner, all others simply eating their losses.  Hide the last 2 or three digits of the serial number from the public.

I'll drop the price to $1,300, see if that spurs any interest...

All,

Jim sent me the pictures and it is a beautiful gun. I have to pass as I have spent too much on Rohrbaughs lately, but someone will end up with a nice gun at a great price.
