IIRC Tracker and a few others on here are, or were, pilots.

Found this series of videos when traveling down a rabbit hole late one night and thought you guys might appreciate them.

This first video will introduce you to the man and his machine.  This was filmed at this years Oshkosh air show.

Now if you want to see how he (yes, the owner-pilot) built it, the following videos will show you what he did.

This saga began early this year and he just finished the project a month or so ago.

Following is video zero, the rest should show up in order.

I have seen a lot of real nice, high dollar pet projects by folks with the funds to have them done.  However, what impressed me is that Mike Patey does most of the work himself using a bunch of different skill sets.  He goes to work at his companies during the day, then comes to the hanger to do his work on this plane 8+ hours at night.  He does not need more than a couple hours sleep a night, and can go a few days without any sleep due to a medical condition.  Googleing his name will return his bio in a number of news articles, interesting guy.

Thanks, Mike----that is an extraordinary feat and example of man and machine. It is no wonder that he smiles a lot.
