"O" rings? I am racking my brain, (does not take long, but sure hurts :)  ) Are the rings on there from the factory?  I was told by Maria to just put a dab of Loktite on the screws.   Was that in additian to the Rings? Trying not to break down my Pup just to see if it has rings.

Chief.  O-Rings are not on from the factory.  Get yours, now, from John.    :)

Due to popular demand I now have in stock O-Rings that go under the grip screw.

The purpose is to keep the screws from loosening.

These O-Rings are Viton 75 compound

Description:

Excellent resistance to petroleum products and solvents.

Temperature Range: –40° to 392°F

  5 - O-Rings  $2.00 Shipped

10 - O-Rings  $3.60 Shipped

Well done, John! I've been preaching on the efficacy of O-rings to secure grip screws for some time and am glad to see you add them to your inventory of after-market accessories for the R9.

And, although I have a supply of my own, as a matter of principle I'm ordering 10 from you today by Pay Pal.

Not yet, I just sent off the sample of the needed size o-ring that I received from one of our forum members the end of last week and it may have arrived at the distributor today. Because I had no size number they wanted to match what was being used.
I have all this money members sent me for o-rings and was thinking maybe I'll go back to Rome for a few weeks. ;D ;D

I will post as soon as I have any info.

I gave Guido a slice of pizza and a Cappuccino and he said were good. ;D

I just received the samples yesterday and checked them against the samples today and placed the order this afternoon.
They said it would be a few days before they got them in and probably a few more before I get them. :)

It took a lot longer than I had expected because the supplier did not stock this size o-ring.  I had to send them a sample which I had to get from Richard and mail to them to checked out and then they had to ordered samples to compare to my samples. After they received there samples they shipped them to me for approval and now the order is in.  ;D

As soon as the o-rings arrive I will get them shipped out.

Thanks to all for your patience.

Placing an order for 20 o-rings and a set of flat head screws in a few minutes. Can't wait to see how much better the o-rings are than the blue loctite I've been using!

The O-rings arrived in today's mail. I should now be well supplied for the rest of my days with what I consider to be a very useful accessory for my venerable Farmingdale R9.

Thank you, Sir.

Yes. They take the place of an adhesive threadlocker, such as Loctite.

My experience and views are well documented on these little problem solvers. Please let us know how they work for you when you have had an opportunity to test their ability to help with grip- screw retention during range sessions.
