Absolutely!  As Brad Paisley says, "You gotta get a little mud on the tires."

What size engine does that beast have?  With these gas prices I spend about $100 a week feeding the V-8.

Its the GM Vortec 3.5 liter in line 5, cranking out 220 horsepower.  Its not a speed demon by any means, but hits about 17/21 mpg.

This truck, while giving the impression of imense size, is really not any bigger than a Ford Explorer -- although just a little bit taller.

A v-5 huh?  Is this engine shared with anything else or is it strictly for the H3?  Did you get to test drive?

It is an in-line 5.  I did drive it, and I liked it a lot.  I am supposed to get a 24 hour test drive this week when the loaner becomes available.

The engine is used in some other Chevy trucks... not sure which ones off-hand.

Look, guys, my email is triggering a response signal to the original thread-- something about R9s, remember?

The very, very, last thing I want to read is something about a Ford, Chevy, Dodge, Jeep, etc.

In normal circles on the internet, this is called 'Hikacking' a thread and is quite annoying.

Want to talk off-road, fine, I have two of the finest; but this here is a R9 place and the past half dozen postings have nothing to do with the R9...

((How do I get 'un-associated with this thread... anyone know??))

I think hijacking is generally a deliberate attempt by someone to take over.  This seems more like thread drift...a natural event when the original topic generates limited interest.

The I-5 is from the Colorado line of Chevy trucks.

Skyhook - you could try selecting the link up top for ''Notify of Replies'' and click ''no'' - that may stop emails.

I know what you are getting at but ya know - in a friendly forum like we have here - sometimes ''thread drift'' does happen.  Much as anything cos for many of us it is a place we feel we share with friends.

Ideally a thread should hold course but hey - now and again drift can occur ;) :)

I think you might actually have to pick "yes" because it will ask "do you want to stop getting notification"....assuming you are set up to get them.

Skyhook,

Indeed this is more of a case of thread drift... and it was my fault.  Waiting for an R-9 became about waiting for other things...

I have generally not been too aggressive in policing thread drift.  Being the administrator... I guess I give myself even more leeway!  ;D

Sorry for the drift.  If you click on the notification options at the upper right, you can turn the notification off for any thread that you tire of.

Gator:

I'm sure you wouldn't want the hijack police to have to lock ya up!  He seems to have fallen asleep or taken on new duties perhaps!  :D ;D :P

I love trucks, and cars. I don't feel this topic was hijacked, and I started it. We all ramble on, and its nice.

I have a Sonoma 4 door P/U, and I love it. It does not have the inline five, it has a V-6.
Here is a picture of it at a PFC event.

Hey Chameleon, Nice truck! I hope you moved it, it is in the way of some of the targets. Also don't leave the keys in the truck, it could be car -jacked!  Tom
