Bubbaman, welcome to the forum.  I hope you return often to enjoy the good friends here.

There are some comparison pictures, but I can't remember exactly where they are here.

A Search using p3at should show some.

I do know the R9S is not much bigger.

Bill

Bubbaman - welcome from me too :)

Go to my FAQ site (see my sig line) and if you go to FAQ index page you'll find a link to all sorts of comparison pics.  I have yet to add the ones here that fudster posted.

What needs to be done in order to add  FFF as an 'associated forum' on your website.

Fudster:

Click on the "Links" tab (fifth tab from the left at the top of the Forum's home page) and scroll down to the "Other Firearms Forums" section.  The link to FFF is there just above the link to Concealed Carry Magazine.

Alan - question!!  Your fourth pic (f136-0.jpg) - of R9 with Smith semi - I cannot decide which model that is in the 4000 series.  I can see 40 on the frame but last two digits are tricky - third digit looks like a ''4'' but last one has me stumped!

Could you please let me know which that is - so I can put those pics up on FAQ - been meaning to do it.  Oh and the snub - I am looking at that thinking Airweight but - I think that's a Scandium is it?

The auto is a S&W 4040PD -- the world's first Scandium pistol. It originally had a blacken finish but was showing signs of rust after less than a year of being carried. So, I had it re-finished and rust-proofed (which explains the greenish finish) and now there's no problem.

As for the revolver, it's a S&W 342 ... a .38special-only version of the 340. Hope that helps.

Thx Alan - I did actually find I already had the snub pic on the FAQ site but for sure I was puzzled re the 4040.

Thx for the info :)
