Richard and KJ, thanks for the info. I just had a long talk with Pete, the owner of grips4u. I wound up ordering the checkered walnut. I've about decided to go with Bearcoat again. The gun doesn't seem to need any internal work, and I'm very satisified with the refinishing they did on my Colt. So that should be all I need. Another adventure begins, I love it!         Gene

Way to go, Gene, on the checkered walnut.  Great on the new adventure;  have to keep 'em going.

Another SOS, does anyone know where I can find grip screws for my P7? The ones that came with it are buggerd. Not badly, but more than I want with new grips. So far I've tried brownells, numrich, cdnn, top gun supply, hogue and several others. All either don't stock them or are out. Gimmie a name, people!! I'll try anywhere. As always, thanks everyone.    Gene

I have a new respect for my stock screws @ $9 a pop. Corey, maybe there is an opportunity there. Some years ago I bought some spare HK parts--holding on tight to them.

Thanks Richard, you bailed me out again. On Richard's advice I accessed Park Cities Tactical and my problem is solved. I bought a pkg of 50 (!!!) stainless screws For $2.66 plus shipping. Talk about big spenders. At my age 50 screws should last about ten years. ;)  Keep those ideas coming!   Gene

Well, the new grips showed up in this morning's mail, and the P-7 left for Bearcoat at noon today with an ETA of 3pm tomorrow. Interesting note, they charge 25 dollars more to do a P7 than they do for other guns. I'm guessing that this is because of the squeeze cocker. That's just a guess tho, I didn't ask. Another adventure starts. I'll keep everyone posted.       Gene

Good going Gene, I need to put you in charge of mine.  I am working with Pete at grips4u to get a set for my flush mount mag release with a round but.

He will be able to get me the proper set with some measurements from screw hole up and from screw hole down.

Again thanks to all the forum members for all the great information.
