Title: Anyone using a dry lubricant instead of oil?
Post by: kanuist on October 06, 2009, 02:11:28 PM
I recently found a product for lubricating some of my woodworking equipment.  It's made by Bostik and is called Dricote.  It says it bonds to metal providing a surface similar to teflon.  It is said that when used on drill bits, it will extend the life of a cordless drills battery pack due to reduced friction.  It also protects against corrosion and moisture.

My mind immediately jumped to "Gun Lubricant".  I also thought "home Robar NP3 kit".

I did a little research and found other dry gun lubricants on the market.

Does anyone use these types of lubricants?  And if so, do you like them and what kind do you use?

Jordan,  That is an interesting post.  I'm still not sure if I want to try a dry lubricant on any of my guns, let along my R9.

I was considering sending my R9 to Robar for their internal NP3 finish.  Dry lubricant is no replacement for NP3, but I thought it might be interesting to try it.  Though on one of my other guns before my R9.

It would also be nice to get an opinion from Rohrbaugh on dry lubricants.
