Reassembly technique
« on: December 13, 2005, 09:31:56 PM »
During reassembly, I insert the pin OK, but the slide will not move afterwards.

The slide is pushed back slightly, at the point where the pin inserts OK, but seems to be stuck in that alignment.

Anybody have an idea what I am doing wrong?  It will be pretty embarrassing to take it to a gunsmith.

Thanks,

Bill

All that I can think of is that you don't actually have the pin in all the way.

Brad,

Thank you!

I was thinking the pin was flush with the left side, and forgot to push it in all the way.  Some people just don't get it when it comes to mechanical things.  How dumb can you get?

After spending more than an hour with the "locked" slide, I finally had to give up.  As usual, there was nothing wrong with the R9, except the user.

You are the greatest troubleshooter there ever was.  Your help is much appreciated.
