Title: My new Sig P938
Post by: yankee2500 on June 30, 2012, 04:04:19 PM
I picked up my 938 yesterday and took it out for a short outing this afternoon.
I put 40 rounds through it and am very happy with it, 25 rounds were Blazer Aluminum cased and 15 were Steel cased, thought I would put the bottom of the line ammo through it first just to see how it did. Every round loaded fired and ejected perfectly, some slow fire and one mag as fast as I could pull the trigger.   ;D

Here are a couple of pictures.

John,

Congratulations on your new Sig. I have been a Sig fan for 25 years now. I gave my son my P229 and he wants a 238 as well. He can buy that one on his own up his return from a tour of duty.
Please keep me posted on how you like it. I will pass the info along.

I had planned on doing more shooting today but it was right around 100 degrees and the air conditioning was calling me.  ;D ;D

Maybe tomorrow and I'll put up a target instead of using a tree stump.  :o

John:

I really like those new grips for your Sig.

Now . . . I have to ask. Who made them? Come on, now. "Fess up."

Charles Spresser, great guy to deal with.

Thank you, John.

I purchased two sets of Sambar Stag grips for my wife's NAA "Mini" revolvers from Charles Spresser a few years ago. However, I haven't visited his web site lately and didn't know he had started working in G10. He is, as you note, a great guy to deal with.

Being a confirmed "grip junkie," I think I'm getting that old familiar "itch" again.

It appears that the grip monster is a light sleeper.

Mine certainly is, and its appetite is insatiable.   :o

I am glad you like the 938, Good to hear from someone that has one. I am planning on getting the Equinox version when they finally release it. My wife's favorite gun is a Sig P238 w/ Rainbow/Titanium Finish.  It is hard not to like a Sig.

Tom,
I can't honestly tell you, I have only shot at a tree stump with the FMJ ammo and a couple days ago I put 8 rounds of Ranger Lawman and 6 rounds of Gold Dots through it and I was shooting at a car door.  :o 8) (not attached to a car) ;D

Like I have always said I don't care for all black guns, so I had to make some adjustments to my 938  :)

John,

The polished slide looks great, now you have a P938 Elite or in Sig jargon a P938 Equinox.

I also weighed them both fully loaded. The pup has a modified hooked extension on the mag, the sig has the seven round mag with the finger extension.

Pup with seven rounds = 18.3oz

Sig with eight rounds  = 21.4oz
