I think this is a very positive development.  For Remington to only cover warranties  and not produce new R9s would be a sure money loser. The only way that I see them making money on the purchase of Rohrbaugh is to start making products to sell and not just cover warranties on guns already sold. Maybe once they recover from the R51 mess they wil start making the "new" R9.....R as in Remington.

UPDATE Re: My Attempt to contact Remington for help
« Reply #16 on: November 07, 2014, 06:27:16 AM »
Update:   I finally have the part I needed. Williams Gunsight was great!!!!  After calling late last week, a gunsmith called me back early this week, walked thru my needs, and handled it.  My safe queen is back whole and my daily carry has its own parts again.

It all came together this week, to make it even better I was able to purchased another R9 of the same vintage as my orginal....it's been a good week.  I really appreciate Williams Gunsight's friendliness and effort.

Thanks to JoshA, DDGator, and everyone for your help!

Finally, some good news!  Just curious, was the part covered by the warranty?

Glad it's coming together! Glad you are up and running Maddog.

Do you have a name and number we should save in our contacts?

Thanks for the update.

I will post how things go for my warranty repair. I know "duh", right Duane? :)

My issue was not warranty.... And they were not really expecting to just sell parts that they had received...they are planning on warranty and service work is my read on it. They were very gracious on selling me the small part I needed and did not try to take advantage of my need.  In fact they had to figure how to price it and I think they were very fair.  I spoke to Kevin initially as he was the one who knew the situation best while they were still setting up. He put me in contact with a gunsmith; I believe the gunsmith who called me was Alex.. The contact info is as I posted previous!... The phone number is (800) 530-9028. A nice lady called me to expedite my shipment; her named was Tracy and she called me from (810) 653-2131.

Sorry for the delay getting back to you guys...
