Hello Folks,
First and foremost my first experience with the R9 was quite pleasant and I am very confident that the R9 will go bang everytime I pull the trigger. Cheers to the bros Rohrbaugh for producing such a great CCW auto pistol.
I'm a lefty and recently had surgery to repair a ruptured tendon in my left hand. As luck or misfortune may have it the tendon leads to my index finger. Therefore I shot the pup right handed today.
The results by ammo using both magazines shot from 5-7 yards:
12 rds Win 115 gr fmj A+
12 rds GoldDot 115 HP A+
12 rds GoldDot 124 HP B+ FTF fifth Rd
24 rds Win 115 STHP A+
24 rds Win 115 FMJ A+
Comparing Kahr PM9 to R9. The PM9 advertises a 200 rd break-in period and with the PM9 I did have a few FTFs during the first few mags and then it work flawlessly.
The R9 was flawless from the box, but difficult for me to comment on accuracy considering I was shooting with my off hand.
My opinion the pup likes to be held firmly but white knuckles is not necessary. Rigid wrist is a must. Here is a photo showiing some rounds shot today. Again I am very pleased with the performance of the R9. My choice of carry ammo due to what felt to be a lighter load is Win Super X Silver tips 115 gr HP.
Kindest Regards, Fred

Sounds like a great first outing. I'm glad you are enjoying the new pistol.
I will also carry Super X Silver tips 115 gr HP but still need to test them for reliability.
Congratulations, dctfn.

I failed to mention that I used a pachmayr model #4 slip on grip. Works very well on the P9. I'm certain it was beneficial for control and feeding.

Way to go! I couldn't do nearly as well shooting with my off hand.

Amen to that, Richard!

Wow, twelve years have passed since my first post. Still carry my pup. Although have not shot it since my first range experience. Just did not see the need. I have relatively an early version R14XX. Good speaking with you. Wishing you and family the very best. Happy New Year, Fred

The Best New Years to you and your family Good Sir!
