Will this save Remington?
« on: January 01, 2018, 10:17:34 AM »
Just read on GunsAmerica that Remington is releasing a 870 DM. The DM stands for detachable magazine. It LOOKS like a 5 round mag but I am sure a 10 rounder won't be far behind. Lets hope.

Very nice piece. I have never heard of Valtro so I checked G-broker. They don't list it. I wonder if that fell under one of the stupid bans that were going around that time? That is what doomed the Street Sweeper. Well it was originally made in Rhodesia till Carter and Thatcher sold the country out then it was made in South Africa. I think American embargo's may have done that in.

You sir have a GREAT scatter gun. I really like the mag release. It is of proper size.

Russian high cap scatter guns are hit and miss when it comes to reliability. I PRAY this helps bring Remington back. For the 3 gun people this would be a perfect fit.

That Valtro comes up for sale every once in a while on gunbroker. I bought mine directly from the importer, John Jardine, 1911 gunsmith extraordinaire for $349

I too was looking at this new offering from Remington on the 870 platform.

I like it a lot!

My gut reaction is - "you have the best design on the market, don't mess with it..."

But on further reflection, if people want this and it works, it's always good to have options.  I don't personally see myself with one.

Also, I have to go chase the kids of my lawn!  ;)

Now they sell in the $800-950 range as a collector item since they aren’t imported anymore

gunsamerica.com just released test results of the 870 DM. Comes with ghost ring sites, standard mag is 6 rounds but they stated both 3 and 10 round mags are to follow soon. Prices start at $529 and go to $799 depending on models.

They put 600 rounds of mixed shells through it without a hitch. Looks like a winner. :) :) :) :)
