Title: Birchwood Casey Aluminum Black Metal Touch Up
Post by: justin2992 on August 01, 2004, 04:32:26 PM
"The room temperature chemical used by gunsmiths and industry to blacken aluminum parts. Restores scratched and marred areas quickly. Fast-acting liquid is easy to apply with no dimensional change. Color will vary from deep gray to black depending on alloy."

Has anyone tried this to touch up the gray aluminum frame?

I thought someone would jump on this, but I guess not.

I have used the stuff and it does work, but it is black.

If I were to use it on a Rohrbaugh, with it's "not so black" frame,  I would be very careful to keep it localized , and that would be tough..  It would be an experiment.

It works but!  Biggest prob is getting a match to an existing tone .... and that IMO is all but impossible.  I have actually found better uses for it on non gun projects.
