Title: New Toadstool
Post by: AmmoToad on July 17, 2010, 10:53:48 PM
Dang it if The Toad didn’t bring a new girl home.  Meet Elisabeth.  Can’t tell from the pic, but my Pup accompanied me faithfully from Alabama to Florida.  Felt good knowing she was there.

Toad, that scooter looks nice!  Does it have a cup holder to hold that bottle while you ride?    :o

Naw, The Toad used to stupidly have a drink or two (okay, lots more) and ride, but I have outgrown that.  I waited till I got home to have one tonight.  I’ve done almost anything you can think of, and escaped all the grief behavior like mine could cause.  Thankfully I always had my RANGER brothers to keep me out of too much trouble.  I love my Veteran Brothers from all generations, we take care of one another and look out for those Great Americans who support us.

Toad.  Nice ride for sure.  Looks like you know how to pick 'em.

To repeat; nothing improves behavior like age if you can just survive long enough.

Yup, she'll fit right in with the other five......yes, The Toad, Tattooed Hog Tamer, has a problem, bikes and firearms, cannot get enough.  Thank God above that I lived long enough to enjoy life and the rewards of busting my A$$ going to school.  For the young ones out there, always treat people right, serve your Country well (in any capacity, not just military) and believe in God above, and you will one day reap the benifits of a good life.  I may die tomorrow, but The Toad and his family have lived well.  Thanks Veterans and Teachers, and those who support them for allowing me to live the American Dream!

Toad.  You have said it well.  Those beliefs have taken you far and may they continue to do so.  I share them as well.

KJTrains, you know it Brother.  Not much I would not do for a fellow American.   I love this Great Nation.  I've seen the worst of the worst and been in the arm pits of the world.  Americia may have her flaws, but She is still the best Nation in the world.  For it is Her that I will defend.

Richard S, thank you for such a righteous picture.  That is why I’m going to engrave it on my skin.  My goal is for no Free American to ever forget.  Every generation has paid their dues.  There are also many righteous American who have never been in the military, but they are no less Great Americans for they understand and appreciate the sacrifices.  This Nation needs to stop looking out, and start looking in.

KJ Trains, Right On!  Rangers lead the way, and we stand upon the ground trodden by so many Great Americans before us and keep our focus for the many Great Americans behind us.  Follow Us!

I have not always done everything right or always made the right decisions, but I have admitted my mistakes, learned from them (sometimes the hard way)and pressed on with pride.  I will continue to make mistakes, but I will never turn my back on a fellow American in need nor from this Great Nation in which we live.

Thank you to everyone out there for all you do, be it in the service of our Country (past or present), or in supporting those who do.  For each of you, I stand ready, willing, able.  It’s what we do!

P7, I hear the battle cry!

Tracker....Right On!  My a$$ was once pulled out of a mess by my Marine Brothers in a faraway place in South America where none of us was supposed to be.  All inter-service rivalry aside, we are all Brothers!

Wow! Tears are coming as I can hear the John Philip Sousa music tuning up in the bandstand of so many foreign battlefields.

For The Toad, Brother, tears probably come way more often than most would consider healthy, but few can truly understand.

Tears are healthy because it unburdens the heart.

KJ,
Do you have any military experiences that you could share with us?

tracker.  I am of the silent type for my Army days, 1963-1965, however, wouldn't trade them for anything even if I could.  Life lessons learned were of the greatest importance and am still applying what I learned then to the present.

What I accomplished in those days were attributed to many key people and I thank each one for their service.

In 1965 things were really heating up in Vietnam. Were you discharged at that time?

To those who have served, your response is not important.  We love you just the same.  Thank You!  From this tattered Veteran heart, I more than most know that that the words “Some Gave All and All Gave Some” ring more true than others will ever know.  I personally thank each and every one of you for what you have done.  By your side I stand.  Put me to the test and you will soon see.  I love this Nation's Veterans and those who support us!  No need for apology…..it’s what we do!  The Toad is here, anytime, anywhere….for that I will defend!

I am often asked to speak at veterans events, why, I do not know.  I am humbled to even be considered.  Isn’t  much I have not done in the name of peace and freedom and have often hoped that those who sent us to do what we did knew what they were asking because I assure you that the American Soldier was good at it.  Every one of us live our own hell and nobody can take away from what we feel or from what we experienced.  Some choose to talk about it, some don’t.  I urge each of you to not judge.  I can only speak from my heart when I say that it was always an honor to speak at Veterans events where Viet Nam Brothers ( I wasn’t there, but I still care) bowed their heads when I said what I had to say.  For on those days it wasn’t about me, it was about those who have been there.  This pic was taken on the 8th of November, 2009.  May have to look closely as it was dark.  This was at a Viet Nam Traveling Memorial.  It was an honor to be even asked to speak, let alone be in the presence of such Great Americans.  Listen to the song (8th of November by Big & Rich) and think, it meant more to me than adjectives alone can describe.  I love you all!  All Gave Some, Some Gave All!  KJTrains, I see Nov 1965….it is for you, that people like me serve.  Thank You Brother!  From this hardened and humble Veteran heart, I thank you!

Toad - I only know you from a few posts and know that I could, no, CAN, count on you as a true friend.
And because of this I know why you are asked to speak at these Veteran eventss.

You have a GIFT!

Your words may be few, but are touching and communicate well.
They get right to the heart of the matter.

Please press on, so we may never forget, and always stand proud.

God Bless You

Reinz

We are fortunate that he and all like him served in the U.S. Armed Forces. That is a succession of proud legacy that has been continuous for the past 235 years or so. "Judge not lest ye be judged."
