Duty, Honor, Country
« on: June 07, 2006, 09:01:56 PM »
The proudest day of my life was in March of 1963 when I finally earned my commission as a lowly lieutenant in the United States Army.

This headline in today's news made me sick to my stomach:

Army Lieutenant in Hawaii Refuses to Deploy Because of War Objections

This link will probably have a short active life, but here it is anyway:

In my day, this sorry excuse for a company-grade officer would be facing an extended "furlough" in Leavenworth.  I trust that the rules have not changed.

It seems as if anybody can get away with anything nowadays!  My son is fighting the enemy in Afganistan while this...this...poor excuse for an officer has a "problem" with this war.  Sounds like a yellow streak is making itself apparent and I too wish he do some "quality time" in Leavenworth!  Of course, the anti-war maroons think he's a hero!  Oy Vey!

A commissioned officer goes against his oath that he
swore to at his commissioning when he says I do not
serve at the pleasure of the President.
That is a court martial offense and should be dealt with
accordingly.

With your son in Afghanistan I thought you would get some satisfaction of the video I just emailed to you of some bad guys getting their just award with a .50 Cal. sniper rifle,
